Create “Moody Money” Optical Illusions
In this science activity, kids create the illusion of a smiling and frowning face by folding dollar bills.
Optical illusions are images that trick your brain into thinking something is there that is not really there at all. By folding a bill, you can create the illusion that the person featured on the bill is smiling or frowning.
Instructions
Fold the bill so that the crease runs through the center of the nose and mouth of the face on the bill.
Now fold the bill in the opposite direction on either side of the nose, with the creases running through the eyes and along the sides of the mouth. Your folds will look like this:
Now tilt your bill backwards and forwards to bring the face to life! Watch this here: Bills movie
